BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MONITORED IN THE EASTERN PACIFIC — DEVELOPMENT REMAINS LIMITED
A broad area of low pressure in the eastern Pacific continues to be monitored by the National Hurricane Center, with additional analysis provided by the TNW Operations Hurricane Division and TNW Weather Center team.
The system is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms, but environmental conditions are only marginally conducive for development. While a tropical depression is not currently expected, slow development remains possible if the system persists over open waters through the weekend.
Formation Chance through 48 Hours: 10%
Formation Chance through 7 Days: 10%
The disturbance is forecast to move generally westward at 10 to 15 mph and could approach the Central Pacific Basin next week. Regardless of development, the system may bring increased moisture and unsettled weather to nearby marine zones.
TNW KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
No tropical depression is expected at this time.
NHC and TNW continue to monitor for any signs of organization.
Low-end development chances remain in place — 10% through 7 days.
