ā ļø WATCHING THE GULF ā DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE & HEAVY TROPICAL RAINS
A broad tropical wave currently off Floridaās Space Coast is enhancing thunderstorm activity and deep tropical moisture over the state. This disturbance is forecast to move westward across the peninsula, emerging into the northeastern Gulf of Mexico by late Tuesday.
š TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT OUTLOOK
- A low-pressure center is expected to form after entering the Gulf.
- Track uncertainty remains, but two general paths are likely:
Southward emergence = more time over warm Gulf waters = higher development potential.
Northern track = less time over water = weaker, rain-soaked system.
Forecasted Formation Chances (NHC):
- š§ļø Next 48 Hours: Low ā near 0%
- š§ļø Next 7 Days: Low ā 20%
š§ļø EXPECTED IMPACTS (REGARDLESS OF DEVELOPMENT):
- Torrential Tropical Rainfall
- Localized Flash Flooding
- Coastal Flooding & Rough Surf
- Disruption to Travel & Emergency Services
Main concern areas include:
- West-Central Florida
- Florida Panhandle
- North-Central Gulf Coast
