šŸšØ 8:30 PM CDT TROPICAL UPDATE: TROPICAL STORM CHANTEL OFFICIALLY FORMS

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has upgraded Tropical Depression Three to Tropical Storm Chantel.

šŸŒ¬ļø Current position:
ā–Ŗ Center located about 150 miles south of Charleston, SC
ā–Ŗ Movement: Slow drift north at 2 mph

šŸŒŖļø Forecast:
ā–Ŗ Chantel will gradually strengthen tonight into Saturday
ā–Ŗ Tropical Storm conditions possible along parts of the South Carolina coast
ā–Ŗ Heavy rain and flash flooding risks increase through Saturday and Sunday

šŸŒŠ Impacts:
ā–Ŗ Dangerous rip currents and rough surf
ā–Ŗ Gusty winds along the coastal regions
ā–Ŗ Flash flood potential across low-lying areas
