🌊 PACIFIC TROPICS ALERT: MULTIPLE SYSTEMS ACTIVE

The Pacific hurricane basin is surging with tropical activity as of Tuesday afternoon:

  • 🌀 Hurricane Iona continues to churn well southeast of the Hawaiian Islands in the Central Pacific basin.
  • 🌧️ Tropical Storm Keli has recently formed in the same region, and advisories are being issued regularly by the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.
  • 🔄 EP98: An area of low pressure about 1600 miles east-southeast of Hawaii is under close watch. While thunderstorm activity has diminished slightly, environmental conditions remain conducive for development. A tropical depression may form within the next 48 hours as it tracks westward.

  • ⛈️ EP99: A large disorganized low south of Mexico is showing signs of organizing. Favorable environmental conditions are expected to support tropical development in the coming days.
