āš ļø MONITORING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM – POSSIBLE TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT NEAR FLORIDA

The TNW News Hurricane Operations Division, in coordination with the National Hurricane Center (NHC), is actively monitoring a broad area of low pressure just east of the Florida Peninsula, designated Invest AL93. This system continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms offshore.

šŸ”„ FORECAST TRACK & POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

The disturbance is forecast to move westward across the Florida Peninsula today, reaching the northeastern Gulf of Mexico by Wednesday. Environmental conditions over the Gulf appear generally favorable for gradual development, and a tropical depression could form later this week as the system moves westward across the northeastern and north-central Gulf.

  • Tropical Formation Chance (7 days): Medium – 40%
  • Tropical Formation Chance (48 hours): Low – less than 30%

šŸŒ§ļø POTENTIAL IMPACTS

Regardless of development, this system is expected to produce heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flash flooding over:

  • The Florida Peninsula through mid-week
  • The north-central Gulf Coast during the middle to latter part of this week, including areas of southern Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana

āš ļø Residents in flood-prone or low-lying areas should stay alert and monitor local advisories and emergency guidance.

šŸ›°ļø NEXT STEPS & PUBLIC ADVISORY

The TNW Hurricane Operations Division continues 24/7 monitoring of this system, with updates provided in alignment with NHC guidance and enhanced TNW Weather model projections.

Next update: Scheduled for this evening or sooner if conditions warrant.
