National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory — TNW Warned First
The National Weather Service has officially issued a Heat Advisory for the Chicagoland region and most of Illinois, in effect from today through Thursday. This includes Aurora, Chicago, and surrounding counties, with heat index values expected to soar well above 100 degrees.
But here’s what you need to know: TNW News issued our own operational heat advisory 24 hours earlier, ahead of the National Weather Service. Why? Because at TNW News, we’re not about money grabs or flashy gimmicks — we’re about actionable, trustworthy weather alerts you can count on when it matters most.
“We’re a three-man operation without federal backing, and we still beat the big networks to the punch,” said TNW General Manager Todd Nardone. “When your safety is on the line, you need weather that works for your neighborhood, not just for headlines.”
⚠️ TNW’s Operational Extension Warning
As General Manager of TNW News, I will not hesitate to extend the heat advisory into Friday via our Operational Alert System if conditions remain dangerous, especially for vulnerable local residents.
