It is expected to strengthen into a hurricane before making landfall. Residents are urged to complete their hurricane preparations as soon as possible.Current Situation:Location: Beryl has sustained winds of 65 mph with hurricane-force winds extending up to 92 miles from the center.
Status: Expected to become a hurricane again before making landfall.
Impact: Dangerous conditions for travelers, particularly those on the coast for the Fourth of July holiday.
Casualties: The hurricane center has confirmed that 11 people from the island of Jamaica have died due to the storm.
Evacuation Orders:Mandatory Evacuation: Issued at 9 AM this morning for RVs and campers along the Texas coastline.
Voluntary Evacuation: In effect for coastal residents. Local officials and mayors are urging evacuation to ensure safety.
Wind and Storm Surge:Wind Speed: Currently at 65 mph.
Hurricane Force Winds: Expected to impact the coast with potential for 92 mph winds.
Storm Surge: Though not at high tide, significant storm surge and hurricane-force winds are anticipated. Elevated risk of spin-up tornadoes which may occur with little warning.
