College Football Forecast — Saturday, October 24, 2026
Good Saturday morning, college football fans — it is a classic fall game day across most of the country, with sunshine and comfortable temperatures from the South through the Midwest and into the East.
The best seats in the house are in the Southeast and the Plains. Louisiana tops out near 83 under sunny skies, with Florida at 82, Arkansas at 81, and Texas, Mississippi, and Missouri in the upper 70s to near 80. Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, and Wisconsin all enjoy sunny to mostly sunny skies in the 60s and 70s — perfect tailgating weather.
Now for the spots where weather is part of the game plan. Alaska is the roughest ticket in the country — light snow, a high of only 23, south winds at 30 miles per hour, and a 100 percent chance of precipitation, so expect a slick field and cold stands. Colorado brings rain and snow showers with a high near 39 and an 84 percent chance of precipitation. Nebraska and New Mexico both face showers and thunderstorms — Nebraska at 81 percent with north winds at 20 miles per hour, and New Mexico at 94 percent — so coaches should keep the lightning safety plan handy and watch for possible weather delays. Minnesota sees rain showers likely at 65 percent, which could mean a wet field and slippery ball handling.
The windy Plains deserve a heads-up too: North Dakota gusts from the west at 25 miles per hour and South Dakota from the northwest at 24, which can absolutely affect the kicking game. Hawaii's forecast was unavailable at publish time.
