The system is forecast to bring severe and potentially catastrophic impacts to Central America, where millions are preparing for life-threatening weather, including flash flooding and mudslides. Preparation Underway in Honduras
Officials in Honduras are urging communities to take preventive action. The country’s Permanent Contingency Commission (COPECO) has advised residents along riverbanks and in flood-prone areas to secure their homes and prepare for possible evacuations. Measures are also underway to reinforce roofs, clear drainage systems, and protect against urban flooding.

Travel and Tourism Affected
As conditions worsen, American Airlines and United Airlines have announced waivers for certain change fees to help travelers adjust their plans. Cruise lines are also monitoring the situation; a Carnival Cruise Line spokesperson from their Fleet Operations Center in Miami advised passengers to opt-in for text and email alerts for the latest travel updates.
