Aurora & Chicago, Illinois — A Heat Advisory remains in effect for Chicagoland and the Fox Valley, including Aurora, due to dangerous levels of heat and humidity. The combination of high temperatures and oppressive dew points will create heat index values between 105 and 110°F this afternoon.
As of 8:00 AM, temperatures were already climbing:
- Aurora: 81°F with humidity pushing the heat index toward 85°F
- Chicago: 80°F under morning haze, warming rapidly as solar radiation intensifies
Highs today will reach the low to mid 90s, with peak heat index values by late afternoon expected to exceed triple digits.
