🚨 Breaking News Update – Sunday

Live Updated at 12:59 PM

The City of Aurora continues recovery efforts following severe storms that swept through the area over the weekend.

šŸ’” Power Outages:
ComEd reports that more than 16,000 customers lost power due to storm damage. As of this afternoon, over half of those customers have had power restored. Crews remain on the ground, working around the clock to bring full service back as quickly and safely as possible.

To assist those still without electricity, ComEd is deploying a powered van to West Plaza on the city’s West Side. The mobile unit will provide charging stations, water, and other essential resources for impacted residents.

🌟 City Response:
The City of Aurora’s Street Maintenance Crews—alongside additional city departments and contracted services—are actively clearing right-of-ways and storm debris across the city. Officials emphasize that the cleanup process will continue through today and into the evening.

🌳 Resident Support:
The city reminds residents to report downed trees and related damage using the myAurora 311 app, available for download at www.aurora.il.us/311.
