🚨 HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR AURORA & CHICAGOLAND AREA

TNW News LLC has issued an early operational Heat Advisory for Aurora, Illinois, and the Chicagoland area. While the National Weather Service plans to put the official advisory into effect starting Wednesday, TNW News is activating this alert a day and a half earlier due to current dangerous RealFeel temperatures nearing 101°F.

⚠️ WHO IS AT RISK?

If you fall into any of the following categories, avoid being outside:

• Elderly individuals
• People with chronic medical conditions
• Anyone taking medications that include heat warnings

Today’s conditions are dangerous. The air temperature is approaching 100°F, with a RealFeel of 101°F or higher. Extended outdoor activity could lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke, particularly for vulnerable groups.

⚡ POSSIBLE POWER OUTAGES – PREPARE NOW

With the extreme heat, there is a risk of unexpected power outages or electric burnout. TNW News strongly advises residents to:

• Fuel your backup generator (gas or propane)
• Consider purchasing a full-power or whole-house generator
• Charge electric vehicles to at least 95% in case you need to evacuate or travel to an air-conditioned shelter
• Minimize power usage during peak afternoon hours

Stay alert for announcements from local emergency officials in:

• Kane County
• DuPage County
• Will County
• Your local emergency management (MR) team

Cooling centers may open as temperatures continue to rise. If your apartment complex does not have central air, call 3-1-1 to find a designated cooling location nearby.
