⚠️ HEAT ADVISORY UPDATE

The National Weather Service Heat Advisory remains in effect through Thursday at 10 PM CDT, covering all of Chicago, Aurora, Kane, DuPage, Will, and Cook Counties Weather Underground+2The Weather Channel+2The Weather Network+2. Expect dangerously high heat index values of 100–110°F, with potential for late-day temperatures reaching 104°F or higher.

🏙 SKYLINE VISUALIZATION

  • The Chicago skyline under lingering afternoon haze reflects the oppressive urban heat.
  • The Aurora skyline, highlighted along the Fox River, is equally smoke‑hazed and shimmering due to trapped heat.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW

  1. Check your air conditioning– if it’s not working, call 311 immediately to alert the Aurora Emergency Management Agency. Cooling compliance is required under city ordinance.
  2. Use cooling centers in both Aurora and Chicago—locations are live on TNWWeather.com.
  3. Charge your electric vehicle to 95%—the grid is under strain and brownouts are possible.
  4. Operate generators outdoors, at least 50 feet away from homes. Do NOT run them inside.
  5. Stay hydrated, avoid the sun, and check on vulnerable neighbors and family.
