Sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 50 mph are forecast, and stronger bursts could reach 58 to 73 mph. A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical-storm conditions are expected — not just possible — within 36 hours. Local impacts: Expect damage to roofing, siding, awnings, and sheds, with some windows, doors, and garage doors failing under gusts. Unsecured lightweight objects can become dangerous projectiles. Several trees could snap or topple, fences and signs could blow over, and debris may block roads. Power outages are likely to be scattered. Low coastal areas could see 1 to 3 feet of storm surge.
