# Tornado Warning for Navajo and Apache Counties Through 1:00 PM

Navajo and Apache Counties, AZ — The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a Tornado Warning for parts of Navajo County in north central Arizona and Apache County in northeastern Arizona, in effect until 1:00 PM Arizona time.

What is happening: At 12:35 PM, radar showed a severe thunderstorm with strong rotation capable of producing a tornado. The storm was sitting about 6 miles north of Pinetop-Lakeside, or 5 miles east of Show Low, and racing northeast at 45 miles per hour. Along with the tornado threat, the storm is dropping ping-pong-ball-size hail.

Local impacts: Flying debris will be dangerous to anyone caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Roofs, windows and vehicles will take damage, and tree damage is likely. Communities in the path include Show Low and the surrounding White Mountain area.

What to do:

- Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building, away from windows.

- If you are outdoors, in a mobile home or in a vehicle, get to the closest substantial shelter right away and protect yourself from flying debris.

- A Tornado Watch remains in effect for portions of north central and northeast Arizona until 9:00 PM this evening — stay alert for rapidly changing conditions.
