Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northeastern Clark County Through 10:15 PM

A weather alert graphic for a thunderstorm warning.

Clark County, Nevada —

**What is happening:** A severe thunderstorm is moving north through northeastern Clark County right now. The storm was sitting near Echo Bay Campground, about 19 miles south of Overton, and is pushing north at 45 mph. This warning runs through 10:15 PM PDT.

**Local impacts:** This storm is packing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail. That is strong enough to knock down branches, damage vehicles left outside, and break windows. Boaters and swimmers around Lake Mead are in the storm's path.

**What to do:**

- Get inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows.

- If you are on or near Lake Mead, get off the water and move indoors or into a vehicle now.

- Remember lightning can strike up to 15 miles away from the storm itself — if you hear thunder, you are close enough to be hit.
