Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Mohave and Clark Counties Through 11:15 AM CDT

# Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Mohave and Clark Counties Through 11:15 AM CDT
Mesquite, NV — The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for north-central Mohave County in northwestern Arizona and northeastern Clark County in southern Nevada. The warning runs through 11:15 AM CDT (9:15 AM local).
## What is happening:
A severe thunderstorm was detected by radar around 8:27 AM about 11 miles southeast of Bunkerville — roughly 15 miles south of Mesquite — and it is moving north at 35 miles an hour. Forecasters call this one "radar-indicated," which means the storm's strength is being read from radar signatures rather than confirmed by a spotter on the ground.
## Local impacts:
- Wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour — strong enough to knock down tree limbs, send loose outdoor items flying, and make driving difficult.
- Hail up to one inch across — about the size of a quarter, big enough to ding cars and damage roofs and crops.
- The storm is bearing down on the Mesquite and Bunkerville area as it tracks north.
## What to do:
- Get inside a sturdy building now and stay away from windows.
- If you are driving, pull well off the road and away from trees and power lines.
- Move vehicles under cover if you can do so safely — quarter-size hail dents cars fast.
- Bring pets and anything loose in the yard inside before the wind arrives.
- Wait for the warning to expire or for word from the National Weather Service before heading back out.
