What is happening: A severe thunderstorm is sitting over Grayson County right now, and the National Weather Service has it under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning through 11:00 PM CDT. At 10:17 PM, radar showed the storm centered over Denison, about twelve miles north of Sherman, drifting east at just 10 miles an hour. Denison could feel the worst of it around 10:25 PM, and the storm is also bearing down on Carpenters Bluff and Ambrose as it crawls eastward.

Local impacts: This storm is packing 60-mile-an-hour wind gusts and hail up to the size of quarters. That is enough to dent vehicles, crack windshields, and rip shingles, siding, and branches off homes. The Weather Service also reports continuous cloud-to-ground lightning with this cell.
