Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Graham and Greenlee Counties Through 6:15 PM MST

Southeastern Arizona — The National Weather Service in Tucson has put southeastern Graham County and southwestern Greenlee County under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6:15 PM MST Thursday evening.
## What is happening:
At 5:35 PM MST, radar picked up a severe thunderstorm about 11 miles south of Roper Lake State Park, pushing northeast at 40 mph. The storm is packing 60-mph wind gusts and hail up to the size of a quarter. It is moving toward Safford, Solomon, San Jose, Safford Regional Airport, Roper Lake State Park, and Swift Trail Junction. Drivers on Route 77 should be ready for dangerous conditions.
## Local impacts:
Quarter-size hail can dent vehicles and break glass, while 60-mph winds can tear shingles, siding, and branches. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect for part of southeast Arizona until 8:00 PM MST.
## What to do:
- Get inside a sturdy building and stay away from windows.
- Do not drive through areas where the storm is hitting — hail and debris can appear with little warning.
- Bring pets indoors and secure anything loose outside.
