# Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Garfield County Through 8:45 PM

Garfield County, Oklahoma — The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northeastern Garfield County in northern Oklahoma, in effect until 8:45 PM CDT tonight.

**What is happening:** A severe thunderstorm was spotted on radar near Breckenridge at 8:12 PM CDT, moving east at about 25 miles per hour. The storm is pushing toward far northeast Enid, Garber, and Breckenridge, and the warning stays in effect until 8:45 PM CDT.

**Local impacts:** This storm is packing 60 mile-per-hour wind gusts and hail about the size of quarters. Hail that size can damage vehicles, and winds this strong can tear at roofs and siding and bring down trees and limbs.

**What to do:**

- Move inside a sturdy building now — an interior room on the lowest floor is the safest spot.

- Stay away from windows until the storm passes.

- If you're driving, pull over safely and wait it out — don't try to drive through the strongest part of the storm.

- Secure loose outdoor items if you can do it quickly and safely.
