# Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Ford and Gray Counties Through 2:45 PM

**Southwestern Kansas —** The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southwestern Ford County and southeastern Gray County in southwestern Kansas, in effect through 2:45 PM CDT Thursday.

**What is happening:** At about 1:55 PM CDT, a line of severe thunderstorms stretched from six miles north of The Haggard Elev to nine miles north of Minneola, pushing southwest at 15 miles per hour. These storms can produce wind gusts to 60 miles per hour.

**Local impacts:** Expect damage to roofs, siding and trees. Severe thunderstorms will be near Ensign and The Haggard Elev around 2:00 PM, with Montezuma also in the path. Torrential rainfall is falling with these storms and could trigger flash flooding quickly.

**What to do:**

- Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

- Stay inside until the storm has fully passed; damaging wind can strike with little warning.

- Do not drive through flooded roadways — turn around, don't drown.
