Comanche County, OK — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for east-central Comanche County and northwestern Stephens County through 7:00 PM CDT Saturday.

What is happening: The National Weather Service office in Norman issued the warning at 6:27 PM. At that time the storm was located 9 miles southwest of Sterling and moving east at 20 miles per hour. Areas in the path include far northeastern Lawton, southeastern Fort Sill, and Central High.

Local impacts: This storm is producing wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and hail about the size of quarters — one inch across. That size of hail is expected to dent vehicles, and the wind can damage roofs, siding, and trees.

What to do:

- Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

- Stay away from windows until the storm passes.
