UPDATE — Sunday, September 27, 7:49 PM CT: the storm was 24 miles southwest of Medicine Lake (25 miles southeast of Gordon), moving southeast at 15 mph, with 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail.

Cherry County, Nebraska — The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for west central Cherry County, in effect until 8:15 PM CDT Sunday.

## What is happening:

At 7:32 PM CDT, radar picked up a severe thunderstorm 23 miles southeast of Gordon, drifting east at 10 mph. The storm is packing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, and Morgan Lake is in its path.

## Local impacts:

Hail up to an inch across can dent cars and crack windows. Gusts near 60 mph are strong enough to peel back roofing, tear off siding, and snap tree limbs.

## What to do:

- Head inside and get to an interior room on the lowest floor of your building.

- Stay away from windows until the storm passes.

- If you spot severe weather, call your local law enforcement and they'll relay the report to the National Weather Service in North Platte.
