Camp Verde, AZ — What is happening: The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Yavapai County in west-central Arizona, running through 7:45 PM MST. Repeated heavy thunderstorms have pushed Wet Beaver Creek up nearly 4 feet, and flash flooding is happening right now. Local impacts: Creeks and streams, normally dry washes, city streets, highways and underpasses are all at risk of sudden flooding. Areas seeing flooding include Lake Montezuma, Montezuma Castle National Monument and Montezuma Well. What to do: - If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately. - Never drive through flooded roads — turn around, don't drown. - Stay out of washes and low-water crossings; the water can rise faster than it looks.
