Sutton County, Texas —

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for southeastern Sutton County in west central Texas through 6:15 AM CDT Thursday.

What is happening: thunderstorms producing heavy rain overnight; NWS San Angelo Doppler radar showed heavy rain at about 3:14 AM, 1.5 to 3 inches already on the ground, another 0.75 to 1.5 inches possible.

Local impacts: flash flooding of small creeks, urban areas, low roads; wet ground means even moderate additional rain can flood fast.

What to do: never drive through flooded roads; if you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately; extra caution at night; stay away from creeks and low-water crossings.
