Flash Flood Warning for Southern Santa Barbara County Through 2:00 AM

Santa Barbara County, California —
**What is happening:** Heavy rain is falling across southern Santa Barbara County, and flash flooding is happening now or expected to start any minute. Doppler radar shows thunderstorms dropping 0.7 to 1 inch of rain per hour over the warned area. This warning runs through 2:00 AM PDT.
**Local impacts:** Flash flooding in this terrain turns roads into rivers fast, especially in hilly areas and around the foothills. Rock slides and mud slides are likely, especially around mountain and foothill roadways. Urban streets can flood with little warning.
**What to do:**
- If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately.
- Turn around, don't drown — never drive through flooded roads. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.
- Stay off mountain and foothill roadways tonight where slides are likely.
