Flash Flood Warning for Southern Inyo County Through 6:00 PM PT

Inyo County, CA — The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Flash Flood Warning for southern Inyo County in south central California, in effect until 6:00 PM Pacific time this evening.
**What is happening:** Emergency managers report thunderstorms producing heavy rain across southern Inyo County, and flash flooding is already occurring. This is not a watch — water is rising now in the warned area.
**Local impacts:** Life-threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses. Even a few inches of fast-moving water can sweep a vehicle off the road.
**What to do:**
- Turn around, don't drown when you meet a flooded road. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
- Get to higher ground immediately if you see water rising around you.
- Report flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement when you can do so safely, and ask them to pass it to the National Weather Service.
