Flash Flood Warning for Santa Barbara County Through 11:15 AM CT

Santa Barbara County, California —
**What is happening:**
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a Flash Flood Warning for east central Santa Barbara County through 11:15 AM CT. Rain gauges show showers and thunderstorms have dropped between 1 and 3.5 inches, with rain still falling at up to an inch per hour. Flash flooding is happening or is about to begin.
**Local impacts:**
Northern Goleta, Highway 154 over San Marcos Pass, and the Mission area are in the warning zone. Flash flooding can hit small creeks and streams, city streets, highways, underpasses and any low-lying or poorly drained spot. Rock slides and mud slides are also expected in the hills.
**What to do:**
- Turn around, don't drown when you meet flooded roads. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.
- Campers and hikers should stay away from streams and creeks.
- Know where you are in relation to creeks and rivers — they can turn deadly fast in heavy rain.
