**Meadview, Arizona —** Thunderstorms are dropping heavy rain over northwestern Mohave County tonight, and the National Weather Service warns that flash flooding is underway there or about to begin. The Flash Flood Warning runs through 7:15 PM MST.

## What is happening:

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas issued the warning at 4:08 PM for northwestern Mohave County. Radar at the time showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area, with half an inch to an inch of rain already on the ground. Forecasters call the flooding threat life-threatening.

## Local impacts:

- Life-threatening flash flooding is possible in creeks and streams, city areas, and on highways, streets and underpasses.

- Visitors and residents near the Grand Canyon Skywalk, Grand Canyon Ranch and Meadview should stay alert — water can rise fast in normally dry washes and canyons.

- The heaviest rain can stall over one spot and turn a quiet crossing into a danger quickly.

- Find an alternate route around flooded streets and low-water crossings.
