Flash Flood Warning for Northeastern Martin County Through 7:00 PM

Martin County, Florida — A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for northeastern Martin County until 7:00 PM EDT this evening, issued by the National Weather Service in Melbourne.
What is happening: Doppler radar is tracking thunderstorms producing heavy rain across northeastern Martin County. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen in the warned area, and another 1 to 2 inches could fall before the warning ends at 7:00 PM. Flash flooding is either happening now or is about to begin.
Local impacts: Creeks and streams may rise quickly. Low-lying areas, underpasses, and roads near drainage canals could flood. Heavy downpours will also make driving difficult with reduced visibility and ponding on roadways.
What to do:
- Never drive through flooded roads — turn around, don't drown. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.
- Be aware of your surroundings and stay out of flooded areas.
- If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately.
