# Flash Flood Warning for Northeastern Glasscock County Through 3:00 AM

Glasscock County, Texas — The flash flood threat continues overnight in west Texas, where the National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa says a Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for northeastern Glasscock County until 3:00 AM CDT.

**What is happening:**

At 12:08 AM CDT, Doppler radar picked up thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have already fallen, and another half-inch to an inch is possible before the storms move out. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. The detection is radar-indicated — forecasters have not yet confirmed flooding on the ground, but with this much water falling this fast, water is likely rising in low spots, creeks, and along roadways.

**Local impacts:**

Low-water crossings, streets, and poor-drainage areas in northeastern Glasscock County could flood quickly. Small creeks and draws may rise fast with little warning. Travel is especially dangerous in the dark — water across a road is nearly impossible to see at night before it is too late.
