**Bastrop, LA —** Flash flooding is underway across northeastern Louisiana this morning, with northern Morehouse Parish under a Flash Flood Warning through 1:00 PM Central Time.


**What is happening:** The National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi issued a Flash Flood Warning for northern Morehouse Parish, lasting through 1:00 PM Central Time. At 10:55 AM CT, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.


**Local impacts:** Small creeks and streams are rising fast, and flooding is hitting urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses across northern Morehouse Parish, along with other poor-drainage and low-lying areas. Communities facing flash flooding include Bastrop, Mer Rouge, Bonita, Galion, Beekman, and Jones.

- Turn around, don't drown — never drive on flooded roads.

- Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

- Avoid low-lying routes and stay aware of your surroundings.
