# Flash Flood Warning for Mohave, San Bernardino and Clark Counties Through 7:15 PM PDT

**Laughlin, Nevada —** A line of thunderstorms is wringing heavy rain out of the desert along the Colorado River tonight, and the National Weather Service has put parts of three counties in two states under a Flash Flood Warning through 7:15 PM.

## What is happening:

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas issued the warning at 4:22 PM for west-central Mohave County in northwestern Arizona, San Bernardino County in southern California, and south-central Clark County in southern Nevada. At that hour, radar showed a line of thunderstorms laying down heavy rain near Laughlin and Golden Valley, with between a quarter and three-quarters of an inch already measured. Forecasters expect the storms to push east toward the Kingman metro through the early evening, and they say flash flooding is happening now or will start soon.

## Local impacts:

- Life-threatening flash flooding is possible along creeks and streams, in city streets and underpasses, and across highways.

- Fast-rising water can turn normally dry desert washes dangerous in a matter of minutes.

- Driving conditions can go bad quickly — water over the road can be deeper and faster than it looks.

## What to do:

- Never drive through flooded roads — most flood deaths happen in cars.

- If you meet water across the road, turn around and find another route.

- Keep clear of low-water crossings and desert washes, where water can rise without warning.
