# Flash Flood Warning for Mohave County, Arizona Through 1:45 PM MST

**Peach Springs, Ariz. —** A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for south-central Mohave County in northwestern Arizona until 1:45 PM MST Sunday. The National Weather Service in Las Vegas issued the warning as heavy thunderstorms moved over the area.

**What is happening:** At 9:41 AM MST, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms dropping heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is happening now or will begin shortly. Rainfall estimates of a half inch to an inch and a quarter have fallen across eastern Mohave County. Places that will see flash flooding include Valentine, Diamond M Ranch, Diamond Creek Campground, and Peach Springs.

**Local impacts:** Life-threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses. Desert washes and normally dry creek beds can turn into raging torrents with little warning. If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately.

**What to do:**

- Never drive through flooded roads — turn around, don't drown.

- Move to higher ground if water is rising near you.

- Stay away from washes, ditches, and fast-moving streams.

- Do not walk through moving water — just six inches can knock you down.
