Northwestern Arizona and Southern Nevada — The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Flash Flood Warning for northwestern Mohave County in Arizona, southeastern Lincoln County, and northeastern Clark County in Nevada, in effect until 5:15 PM Pacific Time.

What is happening: Doppler radar picked up thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area around 2:08 PM. Flash flooding is already happening in some spots and is expected to begin shortly elsewhere. The warning covers the Virgin River Gorge, Mesquite, Overton, Moapa Valley, Littlefield, Beaver Dam, Bunkerville, Logandale, and communities near Lake Mead including Overton Beach, South Cove, and Meadview.

Local impacts: Life-threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban streets, highways, and underpasses. Desert washes and low-water crossings can turn into fast-moving torrents with little warning.

What to do:

- Turn around, don't drown — never drive through flooded roads.

- Most flood deaths happen in vehicles; it takes only a few inches of moving water to carry a car away.

- If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately.

- Report observed flooding to local emergency services when you can do so safely.
