Mohave County, AZ — The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Flash Flood Warning for southwestern Mohave County in northwestern Arizona and San Bernardino County in southern California until 8:00 this evening.

**What is happening:** Doppler radar showed thunderstorms dropping heavy rain along the US-95 corridor south of Needles around 5 p.m. Between a quarter and three-quarters of an inch of rain has already fallen, and flash flooding is happening now or will start very soon. Areas that will flood include Topock, Needles, and Highway 95 at mile marker 29.

**Local impacts:** This is life-threatening flash flooding. Fast-moving water can flood creeks and streams, neighborhood streets, highways, and highway underpasses in a matter of minutes.

**What to do:**

- Turn around, don't drown — never drive through flooded roads.

- Most flash flood deaths happen in vehicles. Abandon a car caught in rising water only when it is safe to climb to higher ground.

- Stay away from creeks, washes, and underpasses until the warning expires.
