# Flash Flood Warning for Lincoln County, Nevada Through 3:00 PM PDT

Lincoln County, Nev. — The National Weather Service office in Las Vegas has issued a Flash Flood Warning for south central Lincoln County in south central Nevada, in effect until 3:00 PM PDT Monday.

**What is happening:** Doppler radar at 12:01 PM PDT showed a cluster of thunderstorms dumping heavy rain along Kane Springs Road. Between half an inch and an inch of rain has already fallen, and the Weather Service says flash flooding is happening now or will start within minutes in the warned area.

**Local impacts:** This is a life-threatening flash flooding situation. Floodwaters can rise fast across creeks and streams, along streets and highways, through urban areas, and beneath underpasses. Desert terrain drains poorly, so even areas that are not yet wet can be cut off quickly.

**What to do:**

- If you encounter a flooded road, turn around — do not drive through it. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.

- Stay out of normally dry washes and low-lying roads; water can arrive as a wall with no warning.

- Keep watching the sky and be ready to move to higher ground.
