Flash Flood Warning for Kimble, Mason and Sutton Counties Through 9:15 AM

# Flash Flood Warning for Kimble, Mason and Sutton Counties Through 9:15 AM
**West central Texas —** The National Weather Service in San Angelo issued a Flash Flood Warning early Thursday morning for Kimble County, Mason County and southern Sutton County, in effect until 9:15 AM CDT.
**What is happening:** Thunderstorms are producing heavy rain across the warned area. At 6:15 AM, Doppler radar indicated between 4 and 8 inches of rain have already fallen, and flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
**Local impacts:** Life-threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Flash flooding can develop quickly where heavy rain has already saturated the ground.
**What to do:**
- If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately.
- Turn around, don't drown — never drive through flooded roads. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.
- Be extra cautious at night, when it is harder to recognize flood dangers.
- In hilly terrain, avoid low-water crossings during heavy rain and find an alternate route.
