Flash Flood Warning for Inyo and San Bernardino Counties Through 7:45 PM PT

Inyo County, CA — The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Flash Flood Warning for south central Inyo County and San Bernardino County, in effect until 7:45 PM Pacific time tonight.
**What is happening:** Doppler radar is tracking a cluster of thunderstorms dropping heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is already underway in some spots and is expected to begin shortly elsewhere. This is a dangerous, fast-moving situation in the high desert.
**Local impacts:** Life-threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses. Water can rise quickly on desert roads and in washes that look dry until the rain hits upstream.
**What to do:**
- Turn around, don't drown — never drive through flooded roads. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.
- Know where you are in relation to streams, rivers, and creeks, which can turn deadly in heavy rain.
- Campers and hikers should stay clear of streams and creek beds.
- If you can do so safely, report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement.
