Flash Flood Warning for Gila and Maricopa Counties Through 11:15 AM

Maricopa County, Arizona — The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Gila County in east central Arizona and Maricopa County in south central Arizona, in effect until 11:15 AM MST today, November 1.
What is happening: Radar and automated gauges show heavy rain falling across the warned area, with between 0.75 and 1.25 inches already down and up to another inch possible. Flash flooding is underway or about to begin.
Local impacts: Forecasters warn of life-threatening flash flooding. Streets, washes, and low-lying areas can flood quickly, and streams, rivers, and creeks can rise fast enough to become deadly.
What to do:
- Do not drive through flooded roads. Turn around, do not drown. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.
- Know where you are relative to nearby streams, rivers, or creeks.
- If water is rising around you, get to higher ground immediately.
- Never try to cross a flooded roadway on foot or in a vehicle.
