Breaking news alert for flash flood warning in Florida.

East Central Palm Beach County, FL — The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a Flash Flood Warning for east central Palm Beach County in southeastern Florida, in effect until 4:00 PM EST (3:00 PM CT) on Monday, November 2.

What is happening:

Thunderstorms producing heavy rain moved across the warned area Monday afternoon. Doppler radar showed between 1 and 2 inches of rain had already fallen, with 1 to 2 more inches possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.

Local impacts:

Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas, is expected. Locations that will experience flash flooding include West Palm Beach, Lake Worth, Greenacres, Palm Springs, Haverhill, Cloud Lake, Gun Club Estates, Royal Palm Estates, Lake Belvedere Estates, Schall Circle, Lake Clarke Shores, Glen Ridge, Westgate-Belvedere Homes, Stacey Street, Plantation Mobile Home Park, Century Village, Cypress Lakes and Lakeside Green, along with the area around Palm Beach International Airport.

What to do:

- Turn around, don't drown when you come to a flooded road. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.

- Never drive through water of unknown depth — it takes only a few inches of fast-moving water to sweep a car away.

- If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately.

- Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and underpasses during heavy rain.
