Flash Flood Warning for Coconino and Yavapai Counties Through 11:15 PM MST

Flagstaff, Arizona — The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Coconino County in north central Arizona and Yavapai County in west central Arizona through 11:15 PM MST tonight.
What is happening: Heavy rain from earlier thunderstorms fell over the West Clear Creek drainage, and Doppler radar shows flash flooding is happening now or will begin shortly. The warning covers creeks and streams in the West Clear Creek area. It runs until 11:15 PM MST.
Local impacts: Life-threatening flash flooding is possible in creeks and streams, including normally dry washes. Washes and creeks will flood. Some dirt roads will turn muddy and impassable, and paved roads and underpasses could flood as well.
What to do:
Never drive through flooded roads. Turn around, do not drown.
- Get to higher ground right away if you see water rising around you.
- Stay away from creeks, streams, and washes until the water goes down.
- If you are camping or hiking near West Clear Creek, move to high ground now.
