Flash Flood Warning for Cochise, Graham, Pima and Santa Cruz Counties Through 5:00 PM

Flash Flood Warning for Cochise, Graham, Pima and Santa Cruz Counties Through 5:00 PM
Tucson, Arizona — The National Weather Service in Tucson has extended a flash flood warning for parts of southeastern Arizona until 5:00 p.m. Mountain time on Sunday, covering western Cochise County, southwestern Graham County, east-central Pima County, and eastern Santa Cruz County.
What is happening: Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the warned area in the last three hours, and up to another inch is possible. Runoff is expected to continue and area washes are still running, which is why the warning was extended.
Local impacts: Heavy rain is causing flash flooding in the warned area. Flooded roads and washes are dangerous, and water levels can rise quickly even after the rain eases.
What to do:
- Turn around, don't drown: never drive through flooded roads.
- Stay aware of your surroundings and avoid washes and low-water crossings.
- Move to higher ground if water starts rising near you.
