# Flash Flood Warning for Cloud County, Kansas Through 4:00 AM
**Cloud County, Kan. —** Thunderstorms dumping heavy rain over north-central Kansas late tonight have triggered a Flash Flood Warning for northwestern Cloud County through 4:00 AM CDT, issued by the National Weather Service in Topeka.
**What is happening:** Around 11:55 PM CDT, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have already fallen, and another half-inch to an inch is possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
**Local impacts:** Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses, as well as other low-lying and poor-drainage areas. Concordia and Jamestown are in the warned area.
**What to do:**
- Never drive through flooded roads — turn around, don't drown.
- Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.
- Be especially cautious at night, when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
