# Flash Flood Warning for Clay and Cass Counties Through 10:15 PM CDT

**Moorhead, Minnesota —** Thunderstorms are soaking the Fargo-Moorhead area tonight, and the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for west-central Clay County in Minnesota and east-central Cass County in North Dakota, in effect until 10:15 PM CDT.

## What is happening:

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks issued the warning at 6:20 PM. Radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area — up to two inches have already fallen, rain is coming down at half an inch to an inch an hour, and up to another inch is possible. Forecasters say flash flooding is happening now or will begin shortly.

- Flash flooding is possible in small creeks and streams, urban areas, and on highways, streets and underpasses.

- Low-lying roads and intersections can pool fast under this kind of rainfall rate.

- The evening commute home may run into standing water and ponding on pavement.
