Marquez, NM —
**What is happening:** The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Flash Flood Warning for southwestern Sandoval County, northeastern Cibola County, and southeastern McKinley County, in effect until 11:00 PM Mountain time tonight. At 5:07 PM, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms unloading heavy rain across the area. Up to two inches of rain has already fallen, with another three-quarters of an inch possible. Flash flooding is happening or about to begin.
**Local impacts:** Expect flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban streets, highways, and underpasses, plus poor-drainage and low-lying areas filling fast. Communities in the warning include Marquez, Cebolletita, Seboyeta, Bibo, and Paguate.
**What to do:**
- Turn around, don't drown. Never drive through flooded roads.
- Most flood deaths happen in cars — find another way or wait it out.
- In hilly terrain, low-water crossings are extremely dangerous in heavy rain.
- If water is rising where you are, get to higher ground immediately.
