# Flash Flood Warning for Carroll and Ray Counties Through 3:00 PM
**Carroll and Ray Counties, Mo. —** The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill issued a Flash Flood Warning Thursday morning for western Carroll County in north central Missouri and east central Ray County in west central Missouri. The warning runs through 3:00 PM CDT.
**What is happening:**
At 9:02 AM, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have already fallen, with rain coming down at 1 to 2 inches per hour. Another 1 to 1.5 inches are possible before the rain lets up, and flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
**Local impacts:**
Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor-drainage and low-lying areas. Locations that will experience flash flooding include Norborne, Hardin, Hale, Bogard, Tina and Stet.
**What to do:**
- Turn around, don't drown when you reach a flooded road.
- Most flood deaths occur in vehicles — never try to drive through rising water.
- If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately.
