Shreveport, Louisiana — A flash flood warning is in effect for southern Bossier Parish and southwestern Caddo Parish through 3:30 PM CST on Tuesday, November 3. What is happening: Doppler radar shows thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have already fallen, and another 1 to 3 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Local impacts: Flooding is expected on small creeks and streams, in urban areas, on highways, streets, and underpasses, and in other low-lying and poor-drainage spots. Places that will experience flash flooding include Shreveport, Bossier City, Haughton, Greenwood, Fosters, Eastwood, Barksdale Air Force Base, Ferguson, Sligo, Forbing, Bodcau, Red Chute, Robson, Fillmore, Princeton, and Cross Lake. What to do: Turn around, do not drown. Never drive through a flooded road. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles, so do not try to cross water of unknown depth. Stay aware of your surroundings and move to higher ground if water starts rising near you. If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately.
