Bay County, Florida — The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Flash Flood Warning for central Bay County in the Florida Panhandle through 9:00 AM CT on Sunday, November 1.
What is happening: Thunderstorms have been dropping heavy rain across the warned area, with Doppler radar showing between 2 and 4 inches already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
Local impacts: Small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, and other poor-drainage and low-lying spots are at risk of flooding. Places in the path include Panama City, Lynn Haven, Springfield, Hiland Park, Vicksburg, Southport, Dirego Park and Cedar Grove.
What to do: Turn around, don't drown — never drive through a flooded road. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles, so avoid travel in the warned area if you can. Stay aware of rising water near you and get to higher ground if water starts to rise. Report observed flooding to local emergency services when you can do so safely.
