Breaking news alert for flash flood warning in Andrews County, Texas.

UPDATE — Friday, October 30, 8:14 AM CT: Radar and automated gauges show 1 to 2 inches of rain fell overnight across Andrews County, and flash flooding is still ongoing around Andrews and the Andrews County Airport. The warning runs through 9:30 AM.

Andrews County, Texas — The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a Flash Flood Warning for central Andrews County in western Texas, in effect until 9:30 AM CDT on Friday, October 30. What is happening: Thunderstorms dropping heavy rain moved across the warned area early this morning. Doppler radar showed between 1 and 2 inches of rain had already fallen by 5:32 AM, and flash flooding is happening now or expected to start shortly. Local impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, along with other low-lying and poor-drainage spots, is possible. Water can rise fast in these places, especially before daylight when flooded roads are harder to see. What to do: Turn around, don't drown. Never drive through a flooded road. Be extra careful at night, when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Watch your surroundings and stay off flooded roads. If you see water rising around you, get to higher ground immediately. Source: National Weather Service, Midland/Odessa, October 30, 2026.
